David Pellegrinelli Bastos

From my roots in Brazil, I have a deep care for the conservation of wildlife through practical work, research and education. My experiences in Canada have fortified my interest for the improvement of our ecosystem's resilience and the species that inhabit them. I believe everyone plays a role in conservation , a belief that has been fortified by relationships built in my time volunteering and teaching. My goal is to do impactful work in conservation, and to equip others to do the same.

Working with Lili Simon in the Estuary Resilience project, I will be able to put my interests to practice and learn the processes of research and fieldwork. I am particularly interested in learning how the study of migratory seabirds and waterfowl can help us improve our conservation of estuaries.
