I’m an undergraduate ecology and conservation student working under Britt's project investigating how salmon mediate floodplain habitat use in newly emerging habitats due to glacial retreat. My work on the project involves tagging camera trap images and will also involve analyzing vegetation transect surveys.
I’ve been a long-standing salmon enhancement volunteer and salmon lover since I was ten years old and have carried my love of salmon with me into my degree. The experiences I’ve had through my volunteer work have inspired a love of the natural world and a desire to protect salmon and their environment. When I’m not in the lab or studying, you’ll probably find me out doing fieldwork for a number of various projects, whether it’s PIT tagging juvenile coho smolts or monitoring larval Dungeness crab populations in the Burrard Inlet.
